Romeo and juliet's love is more of one night stand?

hey in my english class, we're studying romeo and juliet.

but i was told that they're love is more of one night stand.

i don't really know the story but they only met for a night and they want to do **** together....so does this tell you they're love is not true.|||This is the greatest love story ever told. Love at first sight by two 14 year olds has to turn out tragic, even today! Besides, at the time it was written, people didn't live to be more than 50 years old! Also, in those times, most marriages were arranged, which is one thing that was pushing Juliet toward Romeo even more. They were trying to avoid her being married off to a much older man within just a few days. Another thing was the standards in those times. Love or lust could only have one solution and that was marriage! Young people (especially girls) didn't have a lot of choices about how their lives turned out.|||THANK YOU!!!

I have been saying stuff like this since I had to read the book in english class a few years ago!

The other thing that makes me smile is that rather than being the greatest love story ever told, it's more like the ultimate example of male.female miscommunication.

LOL|||They had a pretty unhealthy relationship for sure. Very Codependent but people like to believe in true love so I'd say for purposes of literature It was "love at first sight" or at the very least "puppy love" that had them behaving so irrational. A one night stand is more like A 100% sexual encounter where no relationship is expected by at least one of the participants. You wouldn't have a double suicide climax after a one night stand. Maybe a fatal attraction if one was lead to believe that the relationship was more but That would require a couple more mentally unstable than even Romeo and Juliet.|||it is. the whole play takes place during a period of 5 days. they met, fall in love, and die. honestly, that cannot really happen in real life.
